Press conference “An innovative approach in agriculture”

On Monday, September 30, 2019, a press conference entitled "Innovative Approach in Agriculture" was held within the project "Agriculture Innovation for Ensuring Growth and Jobs in the Cross-border Region – AGRINNO". The conference was attended by the Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Dr. Vuk Radojević, Director of the European Affairs Fund APV, Vidosava Enderić, Director of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, Dr. Svetlana Balašević Tubić, Vice-President of the General Assembly of Congrad County, Beata Kovac. “Within the framework of the international project AGRINNO, co-financed by the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Hungary-Serbia 2014-2020 program, the modern greenhouse was first installed at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops. Also, the new greenhouses are located in three other locations – in secondary agricultural schools, in Ruma, Futog and Vršac.
What this project should enable and aim at is for all students to advance their dual education and to provide them with the acquisition of knowledge with the latest equipment. On the other hand, the realization of this project should give an opportunity to all young people who live in rural areas and do not engage in this sector of industry, to try to become competent in agriculture and to find their livelihood, "said Dr. Radojević. The Fund's director, Vidosava Enderić, presented to the attendees the successfully realized activities on the AGRINNO project, as well as the role of the Fund not only through this project, but in which way the Fund contributes to withdrawing as much EU funds as possible within the territory of Vojvodina. The Director pointed out that over 200 people were educated through the Specialised Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU funds”, which the Fund has successfully organized for six cycles, and on which
participants have the opportunity to get acquainted with EU funds, writing and implementing EU projects. The Director of the Fund also expressed her great pleasure that the cooperation with the partners continues because the proposal of the project idea was submitted AGRINNO
2.
The new project idea proposal includes alternative plant species, that is, medicinal and spicy herbs that are attractive for business development and also very profitable and can provide young people with a stay in the countryside. Panelists at today's conference included Dr. Janko Červenski, Scientific Advisor for Plant Breeding and Genetics at the Vegetables Department, and Dr. Timea Palfi, a representative of he nonprofit d.o.o. for the development of Čongrad County, and at the end, the participants were addressed by the project manager of the AGRINNO project, Predrag Rajić, in front of the Provincial Secretariat for Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry. He pointed out that the implementation of the project was extremely challenging and thanked his colleagues,
project partners and participants for their understanding and cooperation. The conference was extremely attended and successful.
