A plastic-covered greenhouse presented and a workshop organized as part of the AGRINNO project
A workshop titled “Crop Production in an Innovative Plastic-Covered Greenhouse” was held at the demonstration farm of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, including presentation of a modern plastic-covered greenhouse procured as part of the implementation of the AGRINNO project, co-financed from the Interreg-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Hungary-Serbia.
Director of the European Affairs Fund of the AP of Vojvodina Vidosava Enderić stressed that the Common Agricultural Policy was one of the key principles of the European Union and that the European Affairs Fund of the APV was tasked with supporting the institutions of Vojvodina in the European integration process and preparing for fully-fledged membership, which was also evidenced by the project AGRINNO – Agriculture Innovation Towards Growth and Employment in Cross-Border Region. The European Union today is the global leader in trading agricultural food products. On the other hand, Vojvodina has great potential for production of agricultural food products. Procurement and installation of a plastic-covered greenhouse is not the objective of this project in itself. On the contrary, it is a way to achieve a much higher objective, which is actually gaining of knowledge, since, in addition to all natural potentials of Vojvodina, the people, after all, represent the greatest potential and the most important resource, said Enderić.
Provincial Secretary of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Vuk Radojević stressed that this was the first project co-financed from the European Union funds where the Provincial Secretariat was the leading partner, with the objective to improve an innovative approach and entrepreneurial spirit among the young in the field of agricultural business. Together with the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, the Secretariat of Agriculture is to launch a series of educational seminars on the subject of production in plastic-covered greenhouses to ensure immediate implementation of this type of modern production with producers.
The partners in the project are the Provincial Secretariat of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops, European Affairs Fund of the AP of Vojvodina, on the Serbian side, and Nonprofit LLC for Csongrád County Development, on the Hungarian side.
